Communications Cables & Cables for RS-232 Gages & Devices that Use
Standard DB9 Extension Cables
Communications cables are serial cables used to connect serial devices to
a GageWay interface or a serial device directly to a PC. Newer devices
typically contain a 9-pin female D-sub connector. This is what is used on
the GageWay SM (RS-232 version) and the GageWay Series. To connect this
type of device to the standard PC serial port, you simply need a straight
through 9-pin serial extension cable. Other gage interfaces on the market use a 25-pin
connector. In order to connect these interfaces, you need a 25 to 9-pin
adapter cable.
We also carry a wide assortment of other DB25 and DB9 to DB25 cables. Please
contact us if you require this type of cable.

USB Cables & Accessories
All MicroRidge products are compatible with USB ports on
PCs. The MobileCollect USB Base and USB version of the GageWay SM interface provides a built-in USB
support. The other MicroRidge products use the serial to USB
cable shown below.
To get a better understanding of USB and what a USB connector looks like to your application program, go to the USB Primer page.
Serial to USB Cable
If you need a physical serial port and your computer does not have any physical serial ports,
you will need to create a serial port with a Serial to USB cable. Most application
software is designed to read data from external devices via a serial port.
This means that whether you plug the serial device into a physical serial port
or into a USB port, it still must look like a serial port to the application
software. The USB option from MicroRidge consists of a USB cable that
will convert any USB port to a serial port.
Allows you to connect the Mobilecollect RS-232 Bases and GageWay Interfaces to a USB port.
Allows you to connect serial devices directly to your PC for troubleshooting.

USB to PS/2 Adapter
This adapter is used to connect the WedgeLink hardware wedges to a
USB port. If you want to use the WedgeLink hardware wedges with a laptop, this may
be the only way you can connect the wedge to the laptop. We also recommend
using this adapter to connect a hardware wedge to a desktop PC.
