All MicroRidge products are compatible with USB ports on PCs. The USB version of the GageWay SM interface provides a built-in USB cable and connector. The other MicroRidge products use the serial to USB cable shown below.
To get a better understanding of USB and what a USB connector looks like to your application program, go to the USB Primer page.
Serial to USB Cable
If your computer does not have any physical serial ports,
you will need to create a serial port with a Serial to USB cable. Most application
software is designed to read data from external devices via a serial port.
This means that whether you plug the serial device into a physical serial port
or into a USB port, it still must look like a serial port to the application
software. The USB option from MicroRidge consists of a USB cable that
will convert any USB port to a serial port.
Allows you to connect the GageWay to a USB port.
Allows you to connect serial devices directly to your PC for troubleshooting.

USB to PS/2 Adapter
This adapter is used to connect the WedgeLink hardware wedges to a
USB port. If you want to use the WedgeLink hardware wedges with a laptop, this may
be the only way you can connect the wedge to the laptop. We also recommend
using this adapter to connect a hardware wedge to a desktop PC.
