Manufacturers relying on wireless gage data collection need more than just measurement values landing in a spreadsheet. To meet the traceability demands of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100, quality teams need transmitter-level identification, RF diagnostics, event tracking, and the ability to feed that data directly into SPC software and quality management systems. Getting there has traditionally meant custom parsing, workaround scripts, or accepting gaps in your measurement audit trail.
The latest free updates to the MobileCollect wireless gage interface platform are designed to close those gaps. With a new All Data output mode, international keyboard wedge language support, and streamlined base configuration, these updates enable — or for many users, further enable — MobileCollect to serve as the complete wireless measurement data collection backbone for process control and compliance workflows. The updates span the MobileCollect Base EVO series firmware, MobileCollect Xpress Setup software, and MobileCollect Extended Setup software — and all are available now as free downloads.
The updated firmware introduces a standardized All Data output mode, now commonized across both Xpress Setup and Extended Setup configurations. This mode is designed for software providers, system integrators, and advanced users who need access to the complete wireless measurement data packet for parsing on the computer side. The goal: advanced measurement traceability for quality compliance and opening new doors for SPC software and data collection systems to extract significantly more information from the MobileCollect wireless gage interface.
The All Data output includes:
This comprehensive data packet enables software systems to build detailed measurement audit trails, monitor RF link health, track individual transmitters across stations, and support advanced quality and compliance workflows — all from a single data stream.
The keyboard wedge functionality on the Wedge Base, MicroBase USB A and MicroBase USB C now supports multiple international keyboard layouts for keyboard wedge data entry, enabling global deployment of wireless gage data collection without character mapping issues. If your region’s keyboard layout isn’t listed below, let us know — we’re actively expanding language support and welcome requests. Supported languages include:
Xpress Setup receives key usability enhancements that bring commonly needed wireless gage interface configuration options directly into the setup software, eliminating the need to send serial commands through ComTestSerial. These changes simplify wireless measurement data collection setup for manufacturers who need fast, reliable deployment.
New in the Base Info & Config window:
Additionally, Xpress Setup now supports the commonized All Data output mode as well as a new Measurement + Unit output option, both fully operational on Global and Individual Channel configurations. The Measurement + Unit output enables downstream SPC software and quality management systems to receive the unit of measure alongside each wireless gage reading without additional parsing logic.
Extended Setup adds a new Base Configuration window directly on the Home tab, centralizing essential wireless gage interface base settings that previously required separate tools or workflows.
Base Configuration window includes:
Here’s a paragraph for the Extended Setup All Data section:
Additionally, Extended Setup now supports the commonized All Data output mode, fully operational on both Global and Individual Channel configurations. When paired with Extended Setup’s Custom Text Field — a user-defined label configurable per channel — the All Data output gives quality teams and software integrators the most complete measurement data packet available from the MobileCollect system.
All updates are available immediately as free downloads on the MicroRidge website. Existing MobileCollect users can update their Base EVO firmware and setup software at no cost:
