MicroRidge modified its Mobile Module and Base firmware in Fall 2018 to support the Lockheed Grip Gage. Currently, there are plans to provide additional firmware updates for the Grip Gage product. Since Lockheed needs to approve software that will be used on their computers, the following links provide access to the software and firmware that were delivered to Southwest Research Institute in October 2018.

October 14, 2020 | Update Base firmware to Version 5.57. Provided option to enable/disable the Base from sending status message to PC after receiving pairing and message commands. Send <[RESP,1* to the Base to enable the status message. Send <[RESP,0* to the Base to disable the status message. |
February 11, 2021 | Update Base firmware to Version 5.58. Added a response from the Base to the Host PC when a Grip Gage is paired with the Base. The response from the Base is >[Paired,123456,*. The 123456 in the response is the Module ID of the RM2.4 Radio Module. This response is sent when the Base receives a pairing packet from the Grip Gage. The response is sent even if the Grip Gage is already paired with the Base. |
These updates are only compatible with units containing the RM2.4 Radio Module. All of your Grip Gages contain this Radio Module. Bases with the RM2.4 Radio Module started shipping in February 2016. Bases shipped prior to February 2016 contain the discontinued ATZB Radio Module and are not compatible with the Grip Gage firmware. Bases containing the RM2.4 Radio Module contain the following logo on the product label.

You can install this software on as many computers as you feel necessary. Basically, if a facility is using a Grip Gage, it can install this software. You are not allowed to modify the executable files associated with this software.
The modifications to the Grip Gage firmware will primarily be in the binary (.bin) and hex (.hex) files. It is not expected that there will be any changes to the executable files that run on the PC.
