We have integrated remote read switch ports into our devices for over 30 years and in that time we have given incredible power to this simple switch.
For example, you can start a read sequence, initiate a reading from a wireless device over 100 feet away, send a command to the host computer such as a carriage return or tab if you needed to skip a measurement field or initiate a reading on an RS-232 device and have that data parsed before it gets entered into Excel via keyboard emulation technology.

MobileCollect Wireless is the most advanced wireless gage interface in the industry. MobileCollect features our proprietary RM2.4 wirless protocol.
MobileCollect Base Receivers accept measurements from Mobile Module and Remote Transmitters and transfer the measurement to any software application on a PC, PLC, tablet or mobile device. The MicroBase EVO USB A, MicroBase USB C and Wedge Base EVO are Keyboard Wedge 
enabled, meaning they can send measurement data to any software application through either Keyboard Wedge or USB Serial Output. The RS-232 Base EVO outputs via both USB Serial and RS-232 Serial via a DB9 connection.
MobileCollect Remote Transmitters can initiate a gage reading when the read switch is pressed.
