The DC Wireless Connector for Mitutoyo 04AZB512 gages is the hardware link between your Mitutoyo Digimatic micrometer head or caliper and the MobileCollect Wireless automated measurement collection system. This connector uses the same electrical interface as the 959149 connector but with a right-angle plug orientation — a critical geometry advantage in fixture-based automation where cable exit angle directly affects clearance and installation feasibility.
Like all Command Mobile Module connectors, this enables bi-directional wireless communication. Readings are commanded remotely by the MobileCollect Base or your SPC software — no operator button press required at the gage.
With the Command Mobile Module, the read cycle is controlled upstream. Read commands are issued by your SPC software via serial output to the Base Receiver, or triggered by a foot switch, hand switch, or wireless remote switch connected to the Base. The Base transmits the request wirelessly to the Command Mobile Module, which triggers the gage and immediately returns the measurement data — all without any operator action at the gage.
This architecture eliminates the human touchpoint in the measurement loop, directly reducing transcription error risk and supporting tighter SPC control limits. The Base can also request single or multiple readings per command cycle and issue sleep commands to extend battery life — all configurable from your host PC or application.
The 04AZB512 is the right-angle version of the 959149 straight connector. Both cables connect to the same Mitutoyo Digimatic output — the difference is the physical orientation. Choose the right-angle version when a straight cable would interfere with fixturing, workholding, or operator access — particularly common with micrometer heads mounted in fixtures or calipers used in tight spaces. In fixture-based automation setups, cable exit geometry often isn’t optional, and the right-angle plug can be the difference between a clean installation and a cable under constant mechanical stress.
This connector can also be used on Mitutoyo indicators that would normally use the 905338 cable, giving you right-angle cable routing on indicators as well. With the Command Mobile Module, the read trigger source is your SPC software or a read switch at the operator station — not typically via the button on the cable — so the right-angle orientation is purely a geometry decision based on your fixture layout, with no functional tradeoff.

The Command Mobile Module (DC) supports both automated, remotely commanded reads and manual operator-initiated reads via its built-in read button — so it can do everything the M3E does, plus remote automation. The tradeoff is form factor: the DC is larger than the M3E to accommodate the higher-capacity battery required to sustain remote-triggered read cycles. If your application only requires operator-initiated reads at the gage and a compact transmitter profile is a priority, the Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E) is the right transmitter for that use case.
