DC Connector – Mitutoyo 06AGL011

SKU MC-D-06AGL011-6.5 Category Tag

Command Mobile Module connector for Mitutoyo high-accuracy gages that communicate via Digimatic D2 and use the 06AGL011 cable. Enables automated, bi-directional wireless gage data collection — readings are triggered remotely from the MobileCollect Base Receiver or your SPC software, with no operator input at the gage.

This connector is for Mitutoyo’s updated ID-C and ID-F indicators introduced in 2023. If you have an older ID-C indicator that uses the 905338 cable, see the MC-D-905338 connector instead.

Command Mobile Module Firmware must be 5.35 or newer to support Digimatic D2.

DC Wireless Connector — Mitutoyo 06AGL011

The DC Wireless Connector for Mitutoyo 06AGL011 gages is the hardware link between your Mitutoyo high-accuracy Digimatic D2 instrument and the MobileCollect Wireless automated measurement collection system. Unlike the Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E), which relies on an operator pressing a button at the gage to trigger each reading, the Command Mobile Module enables bi-directional wireless communication — readings are commanded remotely by the MobileCollect Base or your SPC software. No button press, no operator touchpoint at the gage required.

The Digimatic D2 protocol used by these high-accuracy instruments requires firmware version 5.35 or newer on the Command Mobile Module. Verify firmware version before deployment.

How Automated Gage Reading Works

With the Command Mobile Module, the read cycle is controlled upstream. Read commands are issued by your SPC software via serial output to the Base Receiver, or triggered by a foot switch, hand switch, or wireless remote switch connected to the Base. The Base transmits the request wirelessly to the Command Mobile Module, which triggers the gage and immediately returns the measurement data — all without any operator action at the gage.

This architecture eliminates the human touchpoint in the measurement loop, directly reducing transcription error risk and supporting tighter SPC control limits. The Base can also request single or multiple readings per command cycle and issue sleep commands to extend battery life — all configurable from your host PC or application.

Mitutoyo High-Accuracy Gages — Digimatic D2

Mitutoyo’s D2 protocol is used on their newest generation of high-accuracy instruments, delivering higher resolution data than the original Digimatic standard. MicroRidge’s Command Mobile Module supports D2 natively with firmware 5.35+, ensuring you capture the full precision of your measurement instrument through the wireless link.

Which Cable Does Your Mitutoyo Indicator Need? 905338 vs 06AGL011

In January 2023, Mitutoyo introduced an updated generation of ID-C and ID-F Digimatic indicators featuring a new S1 connector and the Digimatic D2 communication protocol. These new indicators — including the 543-70X, 543-71X, 543-72X, and 543-73X series — are not compatible with the legacy 905338 SPC cable or MC-D-905338-6.5 connector that worked with previous ID-C models. If you’ve recently purchased a new Mitutoyo ID-C or ID-F indicator and your existing 905338 cable doesn’t fit, this is why. For a deeper explanation of what changed and why, read our complete guide to Mitutoyo’s SPC cable transitions.

The new indicators require the 06AGL011 cable, which uses a different physical connector and supports the higher-resolution D2 data output. If you’re unsure which generation of indicator you have, the easiest way to tell is the connector on the gage itself — the older style accepts the bulkier 905338 plug, while the new S1 connector is visually thinner. Use the MobileCollect Selection Tool to confirm which connector your specific model requires.

Other Versions of This Cable

MicroRidge also offers the 06AGL011 cable/connector for other systems in the MobileCollect and GageWay product families:

M3E Connector — Mitutoyo 06AGL011 — For the Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E). The M3E is the compact transmitter for applications that only require operator-initiated reads at the gage. One-way wireless communication; smaller form factor than the DC.

OEM SPC Cable — Mitutoyo 06AGL011 — For wired connections to the Digital Remote or GageWay interfaces. The Digital Remote provides two-way communication similar to the Command Mobile Module but over a wired connection — ideal for stationary measurement stations. Also compatible with all GageWay wired gage interfaces.

M3E vs. Command Mobile Module — Choosing the Right Transmitter

The Command Mobile Module (DC) supports both automated, remotely commanded reads and manual operator-initiated reads via its built-in read button — so it can do everything the M3E does, plus remote automation. The tradeoff is form factor: the DC is larger than the M3E to accommodate the higher-capacity battery required to sustain remote-triggered read cycles. If your application only requires operator-initiated reads at the gage and a compact transmitter profile is a priority, the Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E) is the right transmitter for that use case.

Part of the MobileCollect Wireless Network

MobileCollect is a brand-agnostic measurement collection platform — it doesn’t lock you into a single gage manufacturer. Whether your shop floor runs Mitutoyo calipers alongside Mahr micrometers, Starrett indicators, or Fowler height gages, MobileCollect connects them all into a single wireless SPC data network. This connector is one component in that system. To complete the automated wireless link, pair this connector with a Command Mobile Module transmitter (MC-MM-DC) and a MobileCollect Base Receiver.
