The Mitutoyo 04AZB512 is Mitutoyo’s Digimatic SPC data cable with a right-angle connector and built-in data send button — available as an accessory for calipers and micrometer heads that use the Type CR SPC port, or for any gage that uses the standard Type C port where a right-angle connection is required for clearance. When connected to a GageWay wired interface or MobileCollect Digital Remote, it passes measurement data directly from your gage to a PC, eliminating manual data entry and the transcription nonconformances that come with it.
This is not a standalone product. The 04AZB512 cable terminates at a gage interface — a GageWay or Digital Remote sits between the cable and your computer and is required to pass data to any SPC software or collection application. If you’re not sure which interface fits your setup, the two most common configurations are detailed below.

The 04AZB512 cable is the standard connection cable for the full GageWay wired interface product line. GageWay interfaces support the Mitutoyo Digimatic output natively — no baud rate configuration or communication parameters required. Plug the 04AZB512 into the gage input port on your GageWay, connect the interface to your PC via USB, and the gage is online.
GageWay Pro2, Pro4, Pro8 — Multi-channel interfaces supporting 2, 4, or 8 gages simultaneously via a single USB connection. Both USB keyboard wedge and USB serial outputs are built in. The Pro series includes configurable read switch ports, data parsing, TIR measurement modes, and AutoBaud detection for RS-232 devices. Best fit for fixed inspection stations, multi-gage measurement cells, and control plan implementations under ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100D where measurement traceability and process integration requirements are defined.
GageWay SM — Single-gage interface with USB serial output. Outputs to any SPC application monitoring a COM port. Pre-configured for Mitutoyo Digimatic gages — plug-and-play with no parameter setup.
GageWay KW — Single-gage interface with keyboard wedge output. Sends measurement data as keystrokes into Excel, cloud-based SPC platforms, or any application that accepts keyboard input.

The 04AZB512 is the right-angle version of the 959149. Both cables use the same Type C / CR connector with the same built-in data send button and are compatible with the same GageWay interfaces and Digital Remote. The only difference is connector angle at the gage end — the 04AZB512 exits at 90° from the gage body, keeping the cable clear of the measurement zone or fixture geometry. If a straight connection works for your setup, the 959149 is available in both 1-meter and 2-meter lengths.

The 04AZB512 is also compatible with the MobileCollect Digital Remote for installations where the gage is stationary and wired into a MobileCollect system rather than a standalone GageWay interface. The Digital Remote provides two-way Digimatic communication — it can receive measurement data from the gage and initiate readings remotely, similar in function to the Command Mobile Module but over a wired connection.
This configuration is most applicable for fixed measurement stations integrated into a larger MobileCollect Wireless network, where the gage itself doesn’t move but the data still needs to route through the MobileCollect infrastructure. For the majority of single-station or multi-station wired setups, a GageWay interface is the more direct and cost-effective path.
