M3E Connector – Mitutoyo 06AGL111

SKU MC-M3E-06AGL111-8.0 Category Tags ,

Wirelessly connect your Mitutoyo QuantuMike Digimatic micrometer to your SPC software or any data collection application — eliminating manual data entry errors at the point of measurement. This is the Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E) connector for Mitutoyo QuantuMike micrometers that use the 06AGL111 cable and communicate via the Digimatic D2 or D1 protocol. Pairs with the Mini Mobile Module EVO M3E transmitter to bring your gage online with MobileCollect.

This connector is for Mitutoyo’s updated QuantuMike micrometer introduced in 2024. If you have an older QuantuMike indicator that uses the 05CZA662 cable, see the MC-M3-05CZA662 connector instead.

Mini Mobile Module Firmware must be 5.35 or newer to support Digimatic D2.

M3E Wireless Connector — Mitutoyo 06AGL111

The M3E Wireless Connector for Mitutoyo 06AGL111 gages is the link between your Mitutoyo QuantuMike micrometer and the MobileCollect Wireless measurement collection system. This connector supports both the standard Digimatic D1 and the newer Digimatic D2 communication protocols. D2 is Mitutoyo’s latest protocol, designed for higher-accuracy instruments that require higher-resolution data output — and it’s the protocol used on the MDE QuantuMike series. Once connected, measurement data transmits wirelessly from the micrometer to your SPC software — no manual data entry, no transcription errors, no clipboard in between.

This connector attaches directly to your QuantuMike’s Digimatic D2 output port and plugs into a Mini Mobile Module EVO (M3E) transmitter — together, they replace the standard Mitutoyo 06AGL111 SPC cable with a compact wireless setup. Each reading transmits wirelessly from the Mini Mobile Module EVO to a MobileCollect Base receiver connected to your PC or data collection workstation.

Important: Mini Mobile Module firmware must be version 5.35 or newer to support the Digimatic D2 protocol. Update Mini Mobile Module Firmware

Built for the QuantuMike Series

The Mitutoyo QuantuMike is known for its rapid 2mm/rev spindle travel, making it one of the fastest micrometers for production measurement. This M3E connector matches that production focus by eliminating the data entry bottleneck — measurements go from spindle to SPC software wirelessly, keeping pace with high-throughput workflows.

The 06AGL111 cable is designed for the MDE QuantuMike’s IP65-rated housing, maintaining dust and water jet protection at the data connection point. If your measurement workflow involves micrometers exposed to coolant, oil, or cutting fluids on the shop floor, this connector preserves that environmental protection while adding wireless data transmission capability. The Mini Mobile Module EVO transmitter itself is not IP rated, but we see very few failures in the field in wet environments. The most common issue over time is that certain cutting fluids and industrial chemicals can cause the cable to become brittle with prolonged exposure. If your application involves heavy coolant contact, contact us at support@microridge.com to discuss best practices for your environment.

Have an Older QuantuMike?

This connector is for the MDE QuantuMike (293-180-40 through 293-183-40) with Digimatic D2/S1 output. If your QuantuMike was purchased before 2024 (pre-MDE generation), it uses the 05CZA662 coolant proof micrometer cable — not the 06AGL111. See the M3 Connector for Mitutoyo 05CZA662 instead.

Other Versions of This Cable

MicroRidge also offers the 06AGL111 cable/connector for other systems in the MobileCollect and GageWay product families:

DC Connector — Mitutoyo 06AGL111 — For the Command Mobile Module wireless transmitter. Use the Command Mobile Module when you need two-way wireless communication — for example, triggering gage readings across multiple transmitters simultaneously from the MobileCollect Base or your SPC software. This is common on large fixtures or multi-point measurement setups where operators can’t physically press each gage’s data send button.

OEM SPC Cable — Mitutoyo 06AGL111 — For wired connections to the Digital Remote or GageWay interfaces. The Digital Remote provides two-way communication similar to the Command Mobile Module but over a wired connection — ideal for stationary measurement stations. Also compatible with all GageWay wired gage interfaces.

Part of the MobileCollect Wireless Network

MobileCollect is a brand-agnostic measurement collection platform — it doesn’t lock you into a single gage manufacturer. Whether your shop floor runs Mitutoyo calipers alongside Mahr micrometers, Starrett indicators, or Fowler height gages, MobileCollect connects them all into a single wireless SPC data network. This connector is one component in that system. To complete the wireless link, pair it with a Mini Mobile Module EVO transmitter (MC-MM-M3-EVO) and a MobileCollect Base Receiver.

M3 or M3E Connector — Which Version Is This?

This is the M3E variant of this cable. It uses a 2×4, 8-pin connector that plugs into the Mini Mobile Module transmitter.

Transmitter compatibility: This M3E cable is fully compatible with both the current Mini Mobile Module M3E transmitter and the retired M3 transmitter. No adapter, firmware change, or configuration required — it plugs directly into either.

This cable supports:

  • Standard SPC measurement output
  • Compatible with Mini Mobile Module M3E transmitter
  • Compatible with Mini Mobile Module M3 transmitter (retired)
  • TriggerSync — readings triggered from the Base Receiver or SPC application, no manual button press required
  • GageSync — two-way communication between the transmitter and gage (Mitutoyo Digimatic S1) that queries the gage for metadata including serial number, calibration date, and more — supporting ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and AS9100 calibration traceability requirements
M3E Connector

See the Mini Mobile Module EVO Connector Compatibility Guide for photos of all four connector and transmitter combinations, including how M3 and M3E cables seat on each transmitter generation.

This cable supports TriggerSync. TriggerSync is a measurement mode where a reading is triggered from the MobileCollect Base Receiver or directly from your SPC application, without a manual button press at the gage. TriggerSync will enable automated data collection across all your connected gages once released. This feature is currently under development and scheduled for release in Q3 2026.

The two additional pins on this M3E cable unlock GageSync — two-way communication between the transmitter and gage that allows the M3E transmitter to query the gage directly for metadata such as serial number, calibration date, and other gage-level attributes. Many gages paired with M3E cables support this two-way communication via the Mitutoyo Digimatic S1 protocol. For manufacturers operating under ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100 Rev D — where calibration traceability, measurement system traceability, and gage identification records are audit-critical requirements — GageSync enables your SPC software to capture gage serial number and calibration status as needed or automatically alongside every measurement reading, moving gage management from manual tracking toward automated, system-level control. GageSync is currently under development and scheduled for release in Q3 2026 — no hardware swap required at launch.

Interested in Early Access to GageSync? MicroRidge is accepting a limited number of manufacturers into the GageSync early access program ahead of the Q3 launch. If you’re running an M3E transmitter and want to be among the first to pull calibration dates, serial numbers, and gage metadata directly into your SPC workflow, contact us to apply.
