This cable brings the DP-1VA into your MobileCollect wireless system, enabling simultaneous printing at the point of measurement and real-time data logging to SPC software on a connected PC via the DP-1VA’s USB port. Also compatible with the older DP-1VR Digimatic Mini-Processor (264-504-5A).

The Mitutoyo DP-1VA Digimatic Mini-Processor is a self-contained data logger and thermal printer used widely in inspection and quality control environments. It collects measurement data from Digimatic-output gages, prints results at the station, stores up to 1,000 measurements, and can transfer batch data to a PC via USB — all without dedicated SPC software running locally.
This MicroRidge cable assembly extends that capability by making the DP-1VA compatible with the MobileCollect Wireless measurement system. Your operator collects measurements wirelessly using a MobileCollect transmitter at the gage. The RS-232 Base Receiver picks up the signal and passes data through this cable to the DP-1VA — which receives it exactly as it would from a wired Digimatic gage.
Critically, this removes the DP-1VA’s native limitation to Digimatic-output gages only. When paired with MobileCollect, the DP-1VA can print measurement data from any gage supported by the MobileCollect system — over 3,500 gages from more than 50 brands, including calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gages, comparators, hardness testers, surface roughness testers, scales, force gages, and more. If the gage can connect to MobileCollect, the DP-1VA can print it.
The practical result:
The RS-232 Base handles both outputs concurrently using its dual output capability— no data splitter or additional hardware required.
No reconfiguration of the DP-1VA is required. No changes to how operators trigger measurements. The cable handles the protocol translation between MobileCollect’s RS-232 output (9600-N-8-1) and the Digimatic format the DP-1VA expects — all within the cable assembly itself.
Rather than requiring a separate inline adapter or converter box, the Digimatic serial conversion circuitry is integrated directly into this cable assembly. The MobileCollect RS-232 Base outputs at 9600-N-8-1; the DP-1VA expects Mitutoyo Digimatic protocol. This cable bridges those two interfaces transparently.
This cable also supports the older Mitutoyo DP-1VR Digimatic Mini-Processor (264-504-5A). Facilities still running DP-1VR units do not need a separate cable.
