The RS-232 V2 Wireless Connector for Proximity-port gages is the interface cable between your RS-232 instrument and the MobileCollect Wireless measurement collection system. The Proximity connector style is used across several gage brands — including Sylvac calipers, Fowler/Bowers calipers, and similar instruments — for RS-232 serial data output. Once connected, measurement data transmits wirelessly from the gage to your SPC software or data collection application, eliminating transcription errors at the source.
This connector plugs into the Proximity RS-232 port on the gage and attaches to the RS-232 V2 Mobile Module (MC-MM-V2) transmitter. The transmitter handles the full wireless link to a MobileCollect Base receiver on your PC or workstation, delivering measurement data to any SPC software or data collection application that monitors a COM port or accepts keyboard entry.

The RS-232 V2 Mobile Module (MC-MM-V2) is purpose-built for RS-232 gages that need to move — handheld thickness gages, portable protractors, and other instruments that travel with the operator or the part. It takes your RS-232 gage wireless without replacing it, connecting via this cable and transmitting measurement data to a MobileCollect Base receiver on your PC, where it’s available to any SPC software or data collection application.
What sets the RS-232 V2 apart is configurable command output. Many RS-232 gages won’t broadcast a reading until they receive a command string — with the RS-232 V2 Mobile Module, you program that command into the transmitter so readings can be triggered directly from the module. No button on the gage, no operator reaching across the fixture.
OEM SPC RS-232 Cable — Proximity Connector 54-115-527 — For wired RS-232 connections to WedgeLink, MobileCollect RS-232 Remote, and GageWay Pro via the multifunction serial port or front channels with a Level Converter Cable. Note: due to the voltage requirements of the Proximity connector, the wireless V2 connector is the only MobileCollect wireless option for this gage type — the M3 and DC connectors are not compatible.
